Sooner or later, you knew that Netflix (NFLX) would stop doing stupid things.
I was an early adopter of Netflix and am generally a big fan of the service. Their recent moves — hiking up the price and the aborted attempt to create Qwikster — have eroded a lot of the goodwill the company had banked. I’m still hoping they can turn it back around, and signing a deal to bring back Arrested Development is a huge step in doing that.

Netflix announced today that all new episodes of Arrested Development will be coming to Netflix streaming in the US beginning in 2013. This follows up news from The New Yorker Festival at the beginning of October that Arrested Development would return for a 9 to 10 episode run prior to a movie.
The whole text of today’s press release is on Netflix’s PR site.

The great Henry Winkler.

(Found on reddit).
For the youngsters, Henry Winkler a/k/a Barry Zuckerkorn was on a TV show called Happy Days that aired from 1974-1984. He played a character named Arthur ‘Fonzie’ Fonzarelli who, at one point, jumps over a shark (though, presumably, not while on his way to Burger King).

By popular demand, I’ve created three ringtones for #TobiasTues.
FIRE SALE! (iPhone | mp3) – the whole “South Coast boutique” routine. The burning, screaming, Amazing Grace, etc. (0:21s)
Amazing Grace with scream (iPhone | mp3) – Tobias singing Amazing Grace but starting with his scream. Excellent startle factor for a ringtone.
Amazing Grace song only (iPhone | mp3) – Tobias singing Amazing Grace.
Right-click, Save As, and put it somewhere memorable. For iPhone users, double-clicking it once you’ve downloaded should open iTunes and put it under Ringtones. For other phones, you should be able to use the MP3 version.

The New Yorker has posted the entire video from this past weekend’s A Bluth Family Reunion. It appears to be a Facebook exclusive, meaning you’ll need a Facebook account.
To access it, go to The New Yorker on Facebook. You have to click the Like button at the top of the page (I know, don’t shoot the messenger), and then select Facebook Exclusives on the left.

Taste the happy, Michael.
According to sources at today’s cast panel, it was announced today that there are plans to develop a fourth season of Arrested Development prior to the movie. It would be an abbreviated season to catch us up on what the Bluth family has been doing the last five years, with approximately 9-10 episodes, and 1 character per episode. Release would be summer 2013.
This was reported by New York Times reporter David Itzkoff on his Twitter feed, and also tweeted by Will Arnett and Jason Bateman.

More details are available at The New York Times Arts Beat.

This is today’s shirt at shirt.woot.com. J. Walter Weatherman would applaud this, if he could.
